Joke of the day: The Rope Thief

Yussuff Iwalaye was a Nigerian from one of the South
Western states who had gone to trade in Zamfara in Northern Nigeria. Two years
after he has left home, he returned with only one of his hands. The other hand
has been amputated; his friend Yinka
was surprised to see him in that condition.

“Yusuff, what happened to your hand?” Yinka
asked with unhidden surprise. Yusuff
replied, “My friend, you will not believe
it if I tell you that my hand was cut off because I took an ordinary rope”
“Ordinary rope?” Yinka asked in astonishment.
“Yes o, ordinary rope! You wouldn’t
believe it”.
“How come?”
“I found a piece of rope tied to a
tree and as I was untying it with the hope of using it to tie my bag of beans
at home…”
“Just like that?” Yinka asked still very surprised.
“Yes, but it was after I was caught
that I discovered that the other end of the rope was tied to a goat”
