God is the author of calamity!

Prophet (Dr.) MKO Tibetan, Parish Head, CCC, Elisha Parish (Europe & Nigeria)

Calamity is when
something disastrous happens to one’s life. Quite a lot of people believe
calamity comes from God, just like the incidence of the November 9, 2016
declaration of the winner of the American presidential election which went in favor
of Republican candidate Donald Trump instead of Democrat
candidate, Hillary Clinton. A lot of people, especially blacks around the
globe see the result as a very bad omen as Trump had already promised to deal
with the blacks, especially Nigerians
if he wins the election.

Although God knows
about so many things that happens to us including the unfavorable results of
the American Presidential election which has led to several reaction including
riots and down tooling in major cities of America, but some of it can be
avoided if we are obedient and exercise patience. Some of us attached
spirituality and religion to what happen to our lives, and we tag it to be from
God. Genesis
3:16
explain the beginning of human calamity; they were warned to eat
from a particular tree but they disobeyed and calamity set in. During the
American election of November 8, majority of the black communities sat at home
while alleged racists took the shine to stand on the street to vote in their
preferred candidate.
Can God really permit Calamity?
The
Abrahamic Calamity…

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Calamity came into the
life of Abram in Gen. 16:2 when he listened to his
wife and lay with her maid-servant and she gave birth to a son called Ishmael.
Gen. 16:9-12, “The
angel of the Lord said to her, return to your mistress and submit yourself
under her hand, then the angel of the Lord said to her; I will multiply your
descendant exceedingly, so that they shall not be counted for multitude; and
the Angle of the Lord said to her, behold you are with child and you shall bear
a son, you shall call him
Ishmael, because the Lord has heard your
affliction, he shall be against every man and every man’s hand against him. And
he shall dwell in the presence of all the brethren”.
The calamity bestowed
to the life of Ishmael decades ago is happening in Iraq, Afghanistan
and other Islamic countries which have made the world to tag them terrorist
nations, even Nigeria.
The
Calamity of Eli…
I Sam. 3:4-16,
Calamity started in the life of Eli when he couldn’t put his sons on
the right path.
Calamities also strike
one’s life through arrogance just like the life of Pharaoh in Exodus
12, 14, 15
when he didn’t want to release the children of Israel
and King
Nebuchadnezzar
in Daniel
4
.
Not all calamity kills,
some happen just to bring us back to God, while some manifest to teach us huge
lesson just like what we have in Exodus 14:10 and in Jonah
1
, where Jonah disobeyed God and later suffered for his disobedience
but God later had mercy on him.
Calamity can stray into
one’s life through pride. In Esther
1:5-20
where King Ahasuerus commanded his guard to
bring Queen Vashti to the palace before the king and his cabinet but Queen
Vashti
refused and she was dethroned as the queen and her royal estate
was given to another person that is better than her (Queen Esther). Also the
spirit of pride made King Nebuchadnezzar lost his kingdom
for seven years in Daniel 4:29-37.
Prophet Dr. MKO Tibetan, Parish Head, CCC, Elisha Parish
Read the story…
29.
At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.
30.
the king spoke, and said, is not this great Babylon, that I have built the
kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty?
31. While the word was in the king’s mouth,
there fell a voice from heaven, saying ‘O king Nebuchadnezzar to thee it is
spoken; the kingdom is departed from thee’.
In
conclusion go through the following bible passages and you will see that God is
the author of calamity- Isa. 3:10, Exodus. 12:12, Exodus.14:20, Deut. 30:15,
Isa. 37:36, 1Corinthians. 10:8, John 14:2-5, Job.3:23-26, Jer, 9:9-11, 11Chronicle.
