How Oluwo of Iwo was sacked by wife — Chief Abiola Ogundokun

The story of the recent sacking of his wife, #QueenChannelChin by the #OluwoOfIwo land, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi might be a very wrong narrative as it is now established that the easy going, gentle and beautiful Jamaica born Canada raised Queen might be the one who took the upper decision to exit the over 3 years romance.

In an exclusive and detailed encounter with Asabe Afrika TV inside his Festac Town, Lagos (South Western Nigeria) mansion, High Chief Abiola Ogundokun, an eminent Nigerian and OBA NLA of IWO Kingdom, who returned from a four weeks trip to the United Kingdom narrated the story of how the embattled Oluwo of Iwo met and fell in love with his Jamaican wife and how the union scattered like a badly arranged card sometimes in the middle of the year.

Chief Ogundokun, a renowned socialite, politician and philanthropist is the Oba Nla of Iwo land, the Apesin-Ola of Erin-Osun land and the J’agun P’ote of the Source (Ile-Ife) among other titles across Western towns.

He has been in a long battle with Oluwo over issues relating to abuse of privileges on the part of the young and exuberant Oba. Ogundokun, a kingmaker was rubbished on many front by the Oba who described the octogenarian with many unprintable names at different forum in and outside Iwo town.

Chief Ogundokun a former National Party of Nigeria and People’s Democratic Party scribe has since sued the Oba for damages at the different courts in Osun state.

But the Oluwo who has been a victim of one controversy or the other since he assumed the throne added a new one to his list of unpredictable misdemeanor penultimate week when news went round town that he has sacked his wife (Olori Chanel Chin) over what he termed ‘irreconcilable differences’

Asabe Afrika TV sought to find out from Chief Ogundokun, who acted the role of a chaperon to both Oluwo and his wife at their early marriage, what could be the reason for the sudden divorce.

Our findings were quite interesting.

  1. This Oba is a huge disgrace and needs urgent psychological help🤬🤬🤬🤬, from what his ex Canadian jamaican olori disclosed about him , sleeping with her without consent while she was drunk, stealing her money, bragging over riches he doesn't have ,constant lying and his deceitful ways, having affairs with the house help….Jez I dont think that sensitive position of influence is for him…..May God help Nigeria and the leaders imposed on us.Sad Sad Sad.😡😡😡😡😡😖 also a great lesson to foreign women blindly falling in love without conducting proper research and investigations "All that Glitters in Africa ain't Gold baby"

  2. Corruption kill Nigeria! Medicine after death, blah blah blah. Why didn't you do your due diligence, why didn't you insist on following the appropriate procedure for choosing/ installing an Oluwo? That's what you get when things are not done by merit, obviously a deserving candidate who was cheated would have performed better. What gift did Aregbesola give you for your favourable consent? Chief Ogundokun you are all part of the proplem, and cannot be excused or distance yourself. You cannot put a square peg in a round hole and expect it to work. Shame on you and everyone that had a hand in this injustice on Iwo people, because you have all deprived them of a peaceful and progressive reign. Shame!

  3. pls and pls…I don't want to be rude, pls when interviewing someone with personal issues like this, you dont talk to much sir!…. you talk more than she is expected to…Haha! I am sure you need to learn more about journalism, some of your words need to be censored. your grammar, questions and interjections are wrong sir. Olori chanel handled this interview better than the interviewer. I am disappointed.

  4. I can't believe what's going on left and right. But in this situation, the elders in iwoland and Yoruba in general should come together and settle all this crisis before it destroy the Yoruba entity. This Baba contributed much to this crisis, look at the way he is talking about the King. Yoruba, we have problems with ourselves. I believed this Baba should be reserved a little bit more than this, and makes necessary corrections where needed.

  5. Yorubas and their funny obas! Why is that lunatic is still there? Here and there disgraceful Obas and their lunatic dramas belittling their stools before the public and watchers. U wonder their thrones have any reverence as portrayed. In igboland where kings are not publicized, non of their kings first class or not acts any way close to lunatic behavior of some yoruba obas. Seriously no sentiments attached. Is appalling!

  7. When an old man sighs saying "auhhh" before he answers a crucial question, then you'll know its no joke, you can feel how much it pained him like this shouldn't be happening. i really feel it in his voice, he is a good man and a father (Chief Abiola Ogundokun) and the Queen, oh God bless that lady, i pray for her happiness and mercy and favor and blessing and protection from the Almighty Lord God in Jesus name. But that kind really has to grow up, change his ways and forget pride so he can live long
