NEXT TOMORROW SUNDAY, APRIL 3, 2022, one of Nigeria’s and Africa’s eminent musician, CHIEF COMMANDER, EVANGELIST (PROFESSOR) EBENEZER OBEY FABIYI (MFR) will be stepping into the esteemed octogenarian age of 80.

This rare milestone of a lifetime has attracted several accolades from eminent Nigerians across the Niger.

Giving a Special Birthday Accolade to the Music Legend, Dr. John Asein, the Director General of the Nigerian Copyright Commission, Abuja described the Juju Miliki exponent as a bridge builder who have brilliantly used his creativity over the years to build relationships across the world.

Dr. Asein while speaking with Asabe Afrika TV in Lagos praised Ebenezer OBEY for his timeless consistency, describing him as a man on a mission who is consistent in his virtues.

The Nigerian Copyright Commission boss appealed to Nigerians and Africans of good inclination across the world to converge in thought and action to build a lifetime music museum for enigmatic legends like Ebenezer OBEY during his lifetime as his musical works are evergreen and everlasting in nature. He noted that such works will enhance the best of socio cultural evolution and socio economic development for upcoming generation of young people who might seek creative philosophy to guide their lifetime decisions.

Femi Adesina, a renowned journalist and former President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors described Ebenezer OBEY as an icon of philosophical music.

Speaking to Asabe Afrika TV inside his Aso Rock, Abuja home, Femi Adesina who is presently the Special Adviser to Nigeria’s 15th President and Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari on Media & Publicity traced Ebenezer Obey’s musical glory to the early 60s and 70s and gave a credible salutation to OBEY’s genius for moral transformation of the society.

Adesina noted with a deep sense of reminiscence that OBEY’s musical works conditioned the society to think positive and evolve into a greater society. The Presidential Spokesman recalled that the legend’s creativity had positive influence on the general society as it developed people and never corrupted society in his time.

High Chief Abiola Ogundokun, a veteran Media Guru, socialite and politician described Ebenezer OBEY as a man of Peace.

The Iwo Osun State born octogenarian who is also the Oba Nla of Iwo kingdom and J’agun P’ote of The Source (Ile Ife) agreed that OBEY is a conflict resolution expert as his musical works pointed in that direction.

Ogundokun who spoke with Asabe Afrika TV at his Orita Basorun, Ibadan Oyo state home described the celebrant as an honest man, a peace maker and a symbol of Godliness. He finally agreed that the celebrant is a builder of men through his numerous musical works.

Aralola Olamuyiwa aka Ara, a respected artiste and first African female talking drummer described Ebenezer Obey as a blessing to African music.

Speaking to Asabe Afrika TV inside her Lagos Hotel suite in Ikeja, Lagos Nigeria, the well travelled entertainer and Goodwill Ambassador to the City of Miami Florida (USA) described Ebenezer OBEY as an Ambassador of culture and moral reformation.

She noted that apart from being a consummate father, Ebenezer OBEY is an enigmatic icon who is worth a million virtues in a lifetime.

She went memory lane recalling how her late Mother, Alhaja Nusirat Victoria Olamuyiwa introduced Ebenezer Obey music to her through listening to his evergreen works and how she eventually reciprocated by re producing one of the legend’s works “Olo mi J’owo” with famous Hip Hop artiste, Tuface Idibia 7 years ago.
