Why Nigerian electorates don’t get political dividends from their politicians — Dr. Jackie Kassim

In this concluding part of our recent encounter with Chief (Dr.) Jackie Adunni Kassim the only female aspirant in the 2019 Ogun State gubernatorial election under the United Democratic Party (UDP), she expressed her sadness for the ruling class and how they have failed majority of electorates with their democratic oath of service.

The Jagunmolu Iyalode of Lisa-Igbore Kingdom in Ogun State (South West Nigeria) threw light on issues that characterized our nascent democracy and brought the beauty to great disrepute.

Dr. (Mrs.) Jackie Adunni Kassim, a very compassionate human development expert is the founder of MISHAK EDUCATIONAL AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION, an NGO that has sponsored pro-educational development initiatives in several schools across Ogun and Lagos State in western Nigeria.

She is the chairperson of Missak Agency Enterprises which cut across Agricola business, tourism and media business.

Her passion for the less privileged citizens in the society made her to establish a Non Governmental Organization called Missak Education and Rural Development foundation which has impacted so much on public primary schools in Ado-Odo/Ota local govt area of Ogun State and other parts of Nigeria. Her foundation has touched over 1000 lives in primary public schools in Ogun state and over 300 widows and women empowerment across the local communities.

The Jagunmolu Iyalode has so many awards to her credit which includes and not limited to Rotaract international award of appreciation; National Association of Nigeria Student award as Icon of hope and inspiration to the Nigerian Youth.

Kwame Nkrumah Leadership Award for Excellence from Kumasi, Ghana. Junior Chambers International (JCI) award for excellence and a distinctive award from the Paul Harris fellow among several other plaques of honor home and abroad.

She spoke about the many loopholes of democratic governance in Nigeria and how politicians have failed the populace in two decades of straight democracy.
