Magazine
staged a superlative Ankara and Awards Night in
Washington DC, USA on Friday 9th October, 2015.

Stepping into the Oxford Event Centre in
Washington DC, the bustling atmosphere would have been mistaken for any
highbrow event in Lagos, Nigeria, going by the array of beautifully designed Ankara
styles worn by both male and female guests at the event and the beautifully decorated
hall.

The event
which started off with a Red carpet show, kicked off in full swing at about
11pm (Nigerian time) and closed in the wee hours of the second day.There were
special performances by DJ Easy ( from Maryland), Toyosi
of the Jazzy tee band from Nigeria, West Africa and
famous Nigerian born -London based group Solek Crew.
The fun,
glitz and glamour of the night doubled up as the organizer,  Xprexxion
magazine
presented awards to the Best dressed male, Best dressed female,
Most stylish Guest, Best couple and Special recognition awards for outstanding
contribution to the Diasporan fashion industry amongst others in DC, Maryland,
Virginia and its environs.
The smiles complemented rarity of the event

Fantastic
prizes were also given to several people with outstanding Ankara styles. The event
was attended by fashionistas and who-is-who in Maryland and Washington DC
communities of the United States of America.
Publisher of
the magazine, Ayodeji Olobatuyi ,
also known as Ayo Ajikawo attributed  the success of the event to God and the support
of good people. The entrepreneur said it gives him so much joy when there’s
consistent promotion of the Nigerian people and culture at home and in
diaspora.

Ajikawo hinted that there’s still more to
come from the stable of Xprexxion magazine as the magazine
is set to celebrate the fashion aspect of the highly industrious culture and
tourism sub sector of Nigeria in the Diaspora with intention to drive business
interest home from a desiring Diaspora community.
The event
ended in the wee hours of Saturday October 10 with a cream of Ankara
wearing guests walking home fulfilled after being completely entertained.
