Inside Eko Boys’ High School’s 110th Year Anniversary + Sermon on Political Corruption in Nigeria

Between Thursday January 12 and Saturday January 14 of Year 2023, the prestigious Eko Boys High School (EBHS) Mushin, had her 110th Year memorial lecture in Lagos, South West Nigeria.

The events which kick started on Thursday the 12th of January began with a Career Talk Session for Students and a thanksgiving service which was well attended by old and young EKOBA (Eko Boys High School Old Boys Association) Students at the Methodist Church Cathedral, Palm Avenue, Mushin on Friday, January 13, and Year 2023.

The peak of the event was a Special Lecture organized in honour of the founder, late REVEREND WILLIAMS EUBA which had the Special Adviser to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Media & Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina and Minister of Works, Barrister Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) as Special Guests of Honor and Speakers respectively.

The Minister, Raji Fashola is an alumnus of the school.

The school which was founded by late educationist and clergy Reverend WILLIAMS EUBA on 13th of January 1913 is the first non-denominational private secondary school in Nigeria.

Minister Babatunde Raji Fashola spoke on the topic “Religious Tolerance; Panacea to Peaceful Co-existence in Nigeria— The Rev. Euba Example”. While Presidential Spokesman, Mr. Femi Adesina spoke on “Role of the Media in Productive Nationalism”

Dr. Kola Ibirogba, a security business guru and alumnus of the school spoke on “Security and Nationalism”.

Old Boys from within and outside Nigeria graced the event in droves.

Eminent members of the Lagos State Ministry of Education, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staffs of the school, members of parents and teachers’ association graced the event in grand style to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the great school.

Special Awards were given to eminent Nigerians and old boys who brought glory and honor to the school in her 110 years existence.
