I shared
this sermon with my congregation couple of years back and the reaction was
quite overwhelming. Why did we say there is evil ahead and how do we stop the
evil? Since 1985, Nigeria as a country has been churning out university graduates,
brilliant young people who come straight out of school into the labor market
with no job, no future and no vision. It has led to a high level of brain drain
which benefits the economy of other advanced nations of the world and leads of
underdevelopment of our country in the comity of nations.

Let’s look
at it this way, in the early 60s, we got our independence from Britain and Malaysia a poor nation equally got hers. Their government officials
and politicians came to Nigeria and
saw our palm kernel industry—they saw what we didn’t see. They plucked those
seeds and went back to their country to sow the seeds on their agrarian land,
they didn’t go to a mega church to sow seed, but they sew real seed of palm
kernel on their soil and today, they have built an annual multi-billion dollars
palm oil industry out of those seeds. But we nursed those seeds here, we got
the fertile ground to plant them but we had politicians and policy makers with
infertile minds and because we failed to know and change them in time, today
the perilous season is here—2nd

Today, we
are still going back to take treatment in London,
the President returned to Nigeria yesterday after spending over 100 days in London under medical watch of British doctors. It simply means that 5
decades after independence, we have failed to make use of what we have—the
soil. I won’t ever think Malaysia’s President
will go seek medical treatment in London
or any European country—Ibi nbe n’iwaju wa.

Our
misfortune started when Awolowo, Enahoro, Ahmadu Bello, Nnamdi Azikwe
sat together to chart a course for our independence from the British colonial masters because none of
them trusted each other in the first place. So, we are suffering from what I
call ‘suspended sentence of mistrust’
from our political forefather.

You can
imagine the boldness in Pharaoh’s
word “I do not know the Lord, nor will I let Israel go”. Today, the vested political interests ruling Nigeria are telling us that they do not
know the Lord and they will never allow the poor masses to enjoy dividends of
democracy; that they will starve the poor to death and make the schools, the
hospitals, the road network and the light/power non-performing. But God said he
will never struggle with them for he will surely take vengeance against them
according to Psalm 94: In verse 9 & 10, He said “He who planted the ear, shall He not
hear?

He who formed the eye, shall he not see? He who instructs the nations,
shall He not correct?”
President Muhammadu Buhari |
God
instructed Pharaoh to let the nation
of Israel go, just like he instructed
Nigerian leaders to let the masses
enjoy the reason for their being born in a country called Nigeria, but Pharaoh
rejected the Lord’s instruction and God deed correct him. From verse 6, Pharaoh decided to increase the labor of the Israelites and made life so difficult for them that they began to murmur
against Moses and Aaron just like our politicians have
decided to make life more difficult and terrible under this government and
people are murmuring against Buhari
& APC. Pharaoh said to the task master “You
shall no longer give the people straw to make bricks as before. Let them go and
gather straw for themselves. And you shall lay on them the quota of bricks
which they make before. You shall not reduce it for they are idle”. In
verses 17 and 18, when the Israelites cried that they had no straw
to work, Pharaoh said “You are idle! You are idle!! Therefore you said ‘Let us go and sacrifice
to the Lord”. So he gave them more work to do and more pain to go through
but Pharaoh never knew that the Israelites were suffering from ‘Suspended Sentence of disobedience’ Ibi nbe n’iwaju won, ibi naa si ti de!

The Congregation during a sermon |
It all began
in Genesis Chapter 15 from verse 9 when God asked Abraham to bring Him some sacrifices
of 3 years old heifer, female goat, and ram; a turtledove and a young pigeon but because Abraham failed to cut the birds into two and even drove the
vultures that came down for the carcasses away, God told Abraham in verse 13 after making a deep sleep fall upon him “Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that
is not theirs, and will serve them, and they
will afflict them four hundred years. And also the nation whom they served I
will judge, afterwards they shall come
out with great possessions”.

Now, Pharaoh
was fulfilling God’s decree in Exodus 5 but he was unaware. He never knew that
the Israelite were suffering from a
suspended sentence of disobedience and God was the author of their trial in
Pharaoh’s court—Jeremiah 46:27-28

That is why
in Nigeria today, you see some people
misbehaving and looking for women’s breasts, tongues and private part for money
rituals. Those they used for such are victims of their own generational misdeed
and those who are equally doing it now will face their own judgment in the
distant future. Their children will also be used for money ritual—Psalm 94:23, Numbers 14:18

The Prophet on the pulpit |
After the
various tribulations that visited Pharaoh
and his kingdom in Exodus 10:1, it
said “Now the Lord said to Moses ‘Go in
to Pharaoh for I have hardened his heart
and the hearts of his servants, that I may show these signs of mine before him,
and that you may tell in the hearing of your son and your son’s son the mighty
things I have done in Egypt, and my
signs which I have done among them, that
you may know that I am the Lord”—that was God speaking because He was ready
to lift the suspended sentence on His children. In verse 7, Pharaoh’s servants
who initially advised him against releasing the Israelites now said to him “How long shall this man be a snare to us?
Let the men go, that they may serve the
Lord their God. Do you know yet that Egypt is destroyed? And after asking Moses and Aaron about the details of their movement out of his kingdom, a
very sad Pharaoh said in verse 10 “The Lord had better be with you when I let
you and your little ones go!, Beware, for evil is ahead of you”—Ibi n be n’iwaju yin!

Obasanjo…The Mechanic who ruled Nigeria |
In Nigeria, a mechanic who joined the Army
became the Head of State by stroke of luck in 1976 and what he gave us was
FESTAC 77. Before then, we had Yakubu
Gowon who made so much money and said Nigeria
was short of ideas on how to utilize the money, hence he organized Udoji Awards for civil servants and
today the consequence of that stupid initiative lives with us. When Murthala, the man who looted CBN in
Benin during the civil war and claimed to saw only 4 Kobo in the vault came on
board, he retrenched Nigerians in the
entire civil service that Gowon gave Nigeria’s fortune to via Udoji Award. Today, the Nigerian civil
service sector has become a haven of corruption and the engine room of social
backwardness because since the Murthala sack,
they became uncertain of their future and started a culture of looting—Nitoriti Ibi nbe n’iwaju wa!

The same
mechanic, Obasanjo came back in 1999
because Babangida and Abacha messed the country up just like Pharaoh messed the Israelites up. Because we seem to lack the will and intellect to
change our own destiny, this mechanic has continued to impose governors,
ministers etc on us since 1999 and the
evil effects are the bad road network that kills thousands of Nigeria annually
across the country, the poorly funded and poorly equipped death centers called
hospitals we have across Nigeria; the
comatose power situation that has made Michelin,
Dunlop and many big industries
abandon Nigeria for Ghana and other smaller and stable
countries—daju-daju, ibi n be n’waju wa!

Or how can
you define a situation where an average Nigerian
Parent is made to cough out a fortune at Covenant
University or Redeemer’s University
only for the child to graduate and be jobless for years. I interviewed a lady
who teaches math in a public school recently and when I probed her further, she
told me she had P in Mathematic while graduating but today she teaches her
younger generation mathematics—Ibi nbe

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo….The Man |
Obasanjo was leaving power in 2007 and he
deliberately gave us a sick man—Yar Adua
because he did not have the interest of Nigeria
and Nigerians at heart. The man later died and was buried in Saudi Arabia as they brought and buried
an empty casket in Nigeria. The same Obasanjo gave us Goodluck Jonathan only for Goodluck
to siphon all our monies through Dieziani,
Omokore, Aluko and others, today,
Nigeria is paying for it.

But this
mechanic, as if poised like the Biblical Pharaoh to punish us for as long as
possible, he recently told us that David
Mark is the best candidate for 2019 presidency. Can you beat that? David Mark? David Mark has started earning and spending Nigeria’s money at age 29 when he was a young officer. He was a two
time Military administrator under Babangida’s
regime, a former minister of Communications under same Babangida’s regime and equally held other notable positions until
democracy came, he was the longest serving Senate President Nigeria ever had
even though he was one of those who worked against democracy in 1993. But
today, Obasanjo is telling you and I

world? Does Obasanjo fear God? You
have taken us through the evil paths since 1976 and you are still taking us
across the same evil paths till date. Does he believe in nemesis at all?

Under his
