Chief Ezekiel Olasunmoye Fatoye, a Chartered Engineer and elder statesman is one of the founding fathers of telecommunication business in Nigeria.
He was a former Executive Director of the defunct Nigerian Telecommunications Limited (NITEL) before he went into private telecommunications business in 1996.
He has been in the business for the past 50 years.
Chief Fatoye could be described as the ‘godfather of modern day Nigeria Telecoms business’ with his co-founding of one of Nigeria’s leading CDMA technology, MULTILINKS in 1996 before the company was sold off to a South African company, TELKOM at the entry of Global System Mobile (GSM) technology in year 2001.
Fatoye, 81, hails from Gbongan, Osun State, South West Nigeria. He is not only a member of the old generation of Nigerians who saw the early good times but perhaps, one of the few lucky ones, still living to see the new but disrupted Nigeria of today.
At this age, like every other compatriots and member of the senior citizen class, the Gbongan Chief and elder statesman is not happy with the state of things.
During an exclusive encounter with Asabe Afrika TV inside his Lagos abode, Chief Fatoye spoke about the politics of his state, Osun and what he thinks about the political miscalculation of former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.
