DR. OLABISI OLABOSOYE AKINFEMI (MLS) is a trained Medical Laboratory Scientist, with vast experience in biological and non-communal diseases.
He is a University of Lagos (UNILAG) and Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) trained biological specimen expert with over two decades experience in the field.
In this exclusive encounter with Asabe Afrika TV in Lagos on Friday 25th August, Year 2023, he spoke on the challenges of Diabetes as a metabolic disease that is ravaging society at large and how victims of the disease in present day society can fight and manage it.
Investigative Scientists and medical analysts describe diabetes as one of the leading causes of death in the world. As of year 2016, Nigeria had the highest number of people living with diabetes in the region of 3.9 million. The number doubled in year 2020.
Before then, particularly in the 90s, little was known about diabetes in Nigeria but today, the average household in Nigeria has a diabetes scare.
In this PART 2 of the encounter, DR. OLABISI OLABOSOYE AKINFEMI continued with his revelations on strategies to defeat diabetes with food, water and lifestyle.
He spoke further on why the rich of the high society find it more difficult to manage diabetes than the poor people.
