ALABA LAWSON’S FUNERAL: How ex-Gov. Amosun reacted to Gov. Dapo Abiodun @ Idi-Ape Church

IN THIS DOCUMENTARY by Asabe Afrika TV during the funeral celebration of late CHIEF (MRS.) ALABA LAWSON (MFR) on Thursday and Friday 7th and 8th of December 2023, eminent Nigerians paid glowing tribute to the spirit and memory of the late Iyalode of Yoruba land with their esteemed presence.

Chief (Mrs.) Alaba Oluwaseun Lawson (MFR, FiOD, JP) was a Nigerian business magnate and academician. She served as the first female President of Nigerian Association of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and Chairman of the board of the Governing Council, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ogun State.

The prominent educationist and founder of the popular Alaba Lawson Group of Schools was born in the early hours of Thursday January 18, 1951 and died in the early hours of Saturday October 28, 2023 at the age of 72.

Until her death she had the rare honour and privilege of being the Iyalode of Yoruba Land. She was formerly the Iyalode of Oke Ona and 4th Iyalode of Egba land after the demise of the highly reputable Madam Bisoye Tejuosho.

In this video, eminent Nigerians from all walks of life graced the last funeral rites of the eminent Nigerian female business magnate.

Leading the pack of dignitaries is His Excellency, former Nigerian President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo (GCFR) and his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Bola Obasanjo

At the event are; Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun (MFR) and his predecessor in office Senator Ibikunle Amosun (CON) among other dignitaries that bade the late Iyalode of Yoruba land, Chief (Mrs.) Alaba Lawson farewell.

Others are former Ogun State SSG, former Minister of Mines and Steel Development under President Olusegun Obasanjo and immediate past Ambassador of Nigeria to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafadeen Tunji Ishola and Senator Lanre Tejuosho who is equally the Baba Ijo of Cathedral of St. James’ African Church, Idi-Ape.

Her remains were committed to Mother’s Earth after a funeral service held at the African Church, Cathedral of St. James, Idi-Ape, Abeokuta on Friday 8th of December.

The Primate of the African Church, His Eminence, Julius Olayinka Abbe during his homily noted that the late Alaba Lawson lived an impactful life as she was kind and generous to the people, the church and the society.

Taking his text from the Book of Luke 16:19-31, the cleric decried the attitude of some wealthy individuals who care less about the well-being of the poor, nothing that the late Alaba Lawson apart from being a well-known educationist, an industrialist with a wide network of connections, was a beacon of hope.

Iyalode Lawson, according to the Primate, was a defender of the defenceless, a reliable and worthy mother who was not only interested in the welfare of her biological children but in anyone who crossed her part during her life.

He added that her death has created a big vacuum that would be difficult to fill.

Primate Abbe called on the wealthy and in authority to work towards alleviating the sufferings in the land brought about by the removal of subsidies on petroleum products; he noted with sad countenance that many people are struggling to survive due to the hardship in the land.

Other Speakers like His Excellency, Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senator Ibikunle Amosun had glowingly tributes for the late Iyalode Alaba Lawson. (WATCH OUT IN PART 2 OF THIS VIDEO)

Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engineer Mrs. Noimot Salako Oyedele; Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Olakunle Oluomo, former Deputy Governors Salmot Badru and Yetunde Onanuga, the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress in Ogun State, Yemi Sanusi, Juju Music Legend, Chief Commander Evangelist (Professor) Ebenezer OBEY-Fabiyi (MFR) and Ogun government functionaries among others graced the occasion.
Several Royal Fathers sent their staff of office to honour the memory of the late educationist and philanthropist of repute in Ogun State.

Nigerians in the corporate, traditional, business and entertainment community paid their last respect to Iyalode Alaba Oluwaseun Lawson.
