Okey Dimoji in his life time

The last day
of April 2015, Thursday 30th became the worst day in the life of the
family of Lagos business man Henry Okey
Dimoji
as the man died in a ghastly trailer accident along Mile 2 on Apapa
Express way, Lagos, South West Nigeria.

Information
reaching this blog last night has it that Okey
Dimoji
who is the first man to sell the high flying Thuraya Mobile Phone in Nigeria under his Royal Stride Telecommunications Ltd before the advent of Global System Mobile (GSM) in 2001 and
his wife, Lynda had attempted a
family friend’s wake keep ceremony somewhere around Festac area of Lagos on Wednesday April 29 and passed the night in
a private hotel in the area as the event dragged into late evening.

The next
morning April 30th the couple was alleged to have left Festac for their Maryland estate, Lagos
home but on approaching Mile 2 expressway a group of police men stopped his
Honda Car for search and despite proper identification of who he was to them,
the police men asked him to come down and open his car booth. Sources told Asabeafrika that it was while coming
down to open his car booth that the unexpected happened.

“Henry Okey Dimoji,
your sun was suddenly cut short while it was rising by the cold hands of death!
Your values of patience, perseverance & hard work will forever resonate in
my heart. Just like your Laughter and consistent optimism. Your humility and
spirit of forgiveness remains an inspiration to all that crossed your path.
CHAIRMAN, you were kind to all that came your way regardless of their status of
their status in life

A fast
moving truck which might have lost control was said to have ran over him and sped
away. On seeing what happened, the group of police men were alleged to have
jumped into their vehicle and sped off despite the cry of his beautiful wife, Lynda who was shouting “Please, help,
help, help!
The hit and
run truck also sped away before anyone could lay hand on both the vehicle and
the driver. Sources claimed that it was his wife and a Good Samaritan that
quickly rushed him to a nearby hospital but he was confirmed dead on arrival.
Right now,
this blog cannot confirm if efforts have been made by security agencies to
arrest the erring police men who caused the accident that lead to Okey Dimoji’s death.
A former creative
director of his firm Mr. John Olutoye Coker
who visited the Okey Dimoji Drive, Maryland estate home of the late
Imo state born business guru on Saturday said his wife was sedated as she has
not recovered from the gory experience of watching her husband die in her very
presence. Some members of Okey Dimoji
family from Enugu and Imo states were also said to be in the house while his
kids, Wesley (13) and Bryan (11) are said to have been
relocated to a neighbors’ apartment with no one ready to tell them that their
father is late. His aged mother living in Enugu is equally said to be shrouded
from the bad happenstance.

his THURAYA market was affected by the advent of GSM. Okey’s Royal Courier

UK. He ran the business for four years between London and Nigeria before he
closed it down and went into media business three years ago with the

On his own
wall, in a post written at 6pm on Saturday May 2nd, John Olutoye Coker, late Okey Dimoji’s former Director of Creative design at Royal Courier was angry with the Nigerian police for their act of
callousness that led to the business man’s death. Hear him “In this new dispensation
that Nigerians are yearning and calling for CHANGE”
Coker noted with anger
The Nigerian Police Force is unconcerned
about the CHANGE
. A very close
friend, brother, former
boss and
business guru OKEY DIMOJI’s car was stopped for search along mile 2 expressway
on
Thursday on their way home from a
