100 Days Of Keeping The Promise You Made In London

Our Dear President Muhammadu
Buhari, we at Buhari-Osinbajo Diaspora Organisation Think Tank Group (BTTG) in
the UK remember clearly how on 26th February 2015 at Chatham House, you called
the idea of 100 days in office for what it can be and clearly stated what you
would rather focus on at the start of your presidency:
“Just to go first to the ‘first 100
days’, some of it is fraudulent and I don’t want to participate in any fraud in
any form. Nigerians know that we are in trouble as a people and as a country. When we get there we will quickly get
correct intelligence of what is on the ground and inform Nigerians and just in line
with what I have just read, we will make sure that misappropriation and misapplication
of public resources will not be allowed. You would be surprised by how much
savings we will realize. That saving will be ploughed back into development and
this is what I can promise.
But I would remove that ‘100 days’”
Many are hooked on the idea
of 100 days but we at BTTG have had our eyes on what you actually promised
Nigerians. Now, 100 days into what we hope will be an 8 year repair work, we
are gladdened to note that you have kept every word of your statement: it has
been about Nigerians and not 100 days!
“When we get
there we will quickly get correct intelligence of what is on the ground and
inform Nigerians…”
Nigerians now know that a
few have shamelessly squandered our commonwealth of some 11 trillion naira.
Promise
kept!
“We will make
sure that the misappropriation and misapplication of public resources will not
be allowed…”
·
Single
account for all government earnings
·
No
direct unbudgeted deductions
·
Unproductive
items like pilgrimages are now a personal matter
Promise
kept!
“That saving
will be ploughed back into development and this is what I can promise…”
·
Increase
in government earnings even with poor oil price
·
Power
supply is stabilising with power supplied for longer hours
·
Dead
refineries have resurrected
·
States
are getting help to pay salaries for service delivery.
Promise
kept!
Other achievements within
the last 100 days are:
  • Security
is slowly but surely returning to North East due to the reinvigoration of
our Armed Forces by this administration.
  • Our
economy is being restored through plugging of leaks and loopholes hitherto
    exploited by looters.
  • Increase
    in our foreign reserve.
  • Single
    Treasury Account.
  • EFCC
and ICPC finally being alive to their responsibility.
  • The
credibility of Nigeria being restored within the comity of nations.
  • The
Presidential order to clean up Ogoni land etc.
The list of achievement is
interminable.
Like we promised you when
you hosted us in London, BTTG is solidly behind you and the new administration
in your quest to ensure egalitarian governance in Nigeria for the delivery of
the dividends of democracy to all. We are praying for you, thinking with you
about Nigeria and staying focused with you even when detractors attempt to
rewrite history whilst you are changing the now and the future of Nigeria. We
will continue to support your administration with policy ideas and advice at
all times to achieve your manifesto and chart a new course for our dear country
Nigeria and its people.
Long Live PMB!
Long Live BTTG!!
Long Live Nigeria!!!
Sai Baba!

behalf of BODO(UK) by Dapo Williams, London.
