Gov. Oshiomhole and his deputy, Dr. Odubu’s cold war gets messier

The
ragging war between the Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and his Deputy Dr. Pius Odubu is said to be getting messier and messier at every
break of the day.
The
ragging war is said to have begun following the governor’s refusal to support
his deputy to replace him in 2016, when he would have completed his two term
tenure as the governor of the state.

The governor had sometimes ago sacked four
commissioners who were accused of holding secret political meting with the
Deputy over Dr. Odubu’s ambition.

This
time around, the governor has suspended four local Government Council Chairman,
who are loyal to his Deputy.

The
four LGA Chairmen are Emmanuel Momoh,
(Estako Cental Local Government Area), Victor
Enobakhare
, (Edo Local Government Area), Osaro Obase, (Oredo Local Government Area) and Roland Iberutomwen, (Orhionmwon Local Government Area).

Through
the governor claimed that he suspended the council Chairman due to their
inability to pay staff Salaries and alleged diversion of funds among others, City
People
learnt that the governor decided to suspend them apparently to
punish them for being loyal to the Deputy Governor and to frustrate the
Governorship aspiration of the deputy governor. It was learnt that rather than
support his deputy who have been loyal to him over the years, the governor
opted to support one of his commissioners for the Edo 2016 governorship.

It
was learnt that the governor’s stand has not gone down well with Benin leaders
and stakeholders, especially the royal family; which has soft spot for the
deputy.
It
was further learnt that the Deputy Governor has the backing of the Crown Prince,

Royal
Highness Ehenede
Erediauwa
. The entire political scenario might take a new dimension with
the emergence of a new Oba of Benin before the 2016 peculiar political year in
Edo state.
