JIDE CHORD (Jide Akinwunmi) is an epitome of creativity. Since he left Nigeria in the late 80s for the United Kingdom (UK), the Ibadan, Oyo State born, (He is from Abeokuta, Ogun State by parenthood) has re-created a brand new entertainment sector in the black community in Diaspora.
He is one of the few souls who got into entertainment business with a head full of ideas and a school degree. Jide Chord started his career as a Journalist with PUNCH Newspaper before going into Public Relations, Banking and finally, Music.
His antecedent as a Choir Master in his local church (Celestial Church of Christ) soon became an asset that set him apart and gave him a niche as he started a musical band in London while still working in other departments of the society.
His band, London Merry Makers Band soon redefined JUJU Music and became the delight of many high profile Nigerians, Africans and Caucasians in the Diaspora community as the British Art Council equally engaged JIDE CHORD in so many local and foreign events.
Since then, he grew in leaps and bounds and soon became a household name both in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
He has released couple of albums with FESTIVAL OF LOVE being his most celebrated album.
Now settled in Nigeria, the Juju Music maestro and creator of JUJU LAMBADA opened up to Asabe Afrika TV during a recent exclusive chat inside his hotel suite on his relationship with late African renowned Magician PROFESSOR MOSHOOD ABIOLA PELLER (Professor Peller) as his Public Relations Manager and how he left Peller Organization for a banking career at National Bank before going fully into entertainment business.
