Tuesday 6th of this month of July was his 78th Posthumous birthday and yet, the world knew that A GOOD MAN IS GONE.
MAJOR GENERAL SAMUEL IFEANYICHUKWU MOMAH (CRF, PhD, Mni, fwc) was a bundle of humanity during his life time, those who knew and related with him could testify.
Those who didn’t meet and had direct contact with this Nnewi Anambra State born Nigerian must have missed the opportunity of meeting one of the few angels that ever lived in human form.
When SAM MOMAH died on Wednesday July 29, 2020, friends, family and associates around the world knew that A BIG STAR DROPPED!
SAM MOMAH the soldier, the scientist, the writer, the thinker, the administrator, the builder, the husband of Ifeoma and the father of five beautifully minded children and twelve ground children is gone. Gone forever to be with The Lord. Gone in flesh and skin but never gone in good deeds and character. His legacy is too bold to thin out.
The former Adjutant General of Nigeria Army, former Commander of Doctrinal Command of the Nigerian Army, Pioneer Director of National War College, Lagos. Former Minister of Science and Technology (And the best Minister for that matter); A Doctorate Degree holder in Strategic Studies, a degree holder in Civil Engineering, author of twelve notable books, manager of one of Abuja’s best hotels and more.
A man who loves hard work and worked hard on his toes till that fateful afternoon of Wednesday July 29 (23 days after his 77th Birthday) that some heavenly hosts appeared to him inside his Crystal Palace Hotel office in Abuja and beckoned on him to ascend straight to heaven, to go and continue to dine and wine with our Lord JESUS CHRIST.
SAM MOMAH who served his full 36 Years cycle in the Nigerian Army retired into writing books and running a tourism business he got a huge loan to establish. However, it pleases the Almighty God to allow him spend 7 Decades, Seven Years, Three Weeks and Two Days on Earth.
On Friday October 30th, Year 2020, top military brass, clergies and notable citizens in company of ordinary Nigerians gave the General his last honor at St. Stephens Anglican Church, Umudim, Nnewi, Anambra State (Eastern Nigeria) as he got his full military salutation by members of the Nigerian Army before his body was lowered to the soil before family members.
