Former Governors of Abia and Cross River States, Dr. Orji Kalu and
Chief Donald Duke have condoled with former
 Governor
of Anambra State, Dr. Chris Ngige over the passing of his beloved father, Ozo
Akunnia Pius Okonkwo Ngige.

The centenarian died at the age of 105 recently.

The duo of Kalu and Duke on Thusrday paid a condolence visit to
the APC chieftain at his Abuja residence.

During the visit, Kalu said “Ozo Akunnia Pius Okonkwo Ngige was a
selfless leader who committed his resources to the empowerment of his people
and upliftment of the community. He will be remembered for his contribution to
the Christian faith during his life time. He lived a life dedicated to God and
humanity. His legacies will linger forever in the minds of those that related
with during his life time. At this period of grief, we are with the Ngige
family in prayers”.

The business mogul urged the deceased’s family to take solace in
the fact that their patriarch lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation.
Kalu while commiserating with the people and government of Anambra
State, the Alor community, prayed God to grant the Ngige family the fortitude
to bear the loss and also grant the departed soul everlasting rest.
Duke in his own remarks, extolled the virtues of the late
centenarian, noting that he contributed immensely to the social and economical
development of the old Eastern region.

According to the former Cross River State governor, Ozo Pius Ngige
was a devoted Catholic that committed his resources to God and humanity.
“He lived for the people and was well loved by all and sundry
irrespective of age, sex and religion in the community”, he added.
Duke prayed God to grant the deceased a blissful rest.
At the residence of the APC chieftain were, Arc. Lemdi Anako,  former Deputy Governor of Abia State, Dr. Chris Akomas, Chief
Gallant Ogbomon and Hon. Barr. Obi Igwedibia Ezedioramma.
