Life @ 80, fear for Nigeria & my Mike Adenuga Story — Gen. Jemibewon

In this red exclusive encounter with Asabe Afrika TV inside his Lagos home somewhere in Ogudu G.R.A, Lagos State (West Africa) General David Medayese Jemibewon (CFR, Mni) an elder statesman and former Governor of old Western State of Nigeria under late General Murthala Mohammed’s regime between August 1975 and March 1976 spoke on his life at 80, fears for Nigeria and what he wants the present Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Muhammadu Buhari to do before he leaves power.

The General told us the story of his humble beginning from nothing to something, saying he was never driven by any ambition as an Army officer.

The Iyah-Gbede, Kogi State born Army top brass who ruled Oyo State under General Obasanjo’s military regime between March 1976 and July 1978 before he was promoted as Adjutant General of the Nigerian Army towards the end of 1978 spoke about his challenging experience in the Military right from the war front to the barrack.

General Jemibewon who is a good friend of African billionaire business man and founder Glo & Coinoil, Otunba Dr. Michael Agbolade Ishola Adenuga aka Mike Adenuga Junior spoke on his cordial relationship with the Ijebu born business guru and why Adenuga’s late mother, Chief (Mrs.) Oyindamola Adenuga (Yeye Oba of Ijebu land) held in high esteem. He has good words for the late Yeye Oba who passed away in 2005 at the age of 90.

The General came back to limelight in 1999 when he was appointed Police Affairs Minister under President Olusegun Obasanjo’s civilian regime, a position he held with transformative strides till year 2000.

He is reputed to be the minister who created and institutionalized the Police Service Commission (PSC).
