Ogun Set To Renovate Ibiade General Hospital


Few
months after the rainstorm disaster that ravaged Ibiade General Hospital in
Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of the State, the Ogun State Government
has moved to renovate the building in order to put the 55 year facility to use
for the people of the community.

The
Permanent Secretary, Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Ekundayo Ayinde who spoke
with journalists in Ibiade explained that the visit of construction Engineers
from the Ministries of Housing and Works was to assess the level of damage,
evaluate and quantify the cost of repair.
Dr.
Ayinde explained that, efficient Health care delivery remains paramount to the
present administration and would leave no stone unturned to ensure its
realization.

Head
of the Hospital, Dr. Sayo Idowu explained that the storm damaged some parts of
the facility which included the x-ray, out – patient and consulting rooms as
well as some parts of the residential quarters after a heavy down pour in July
this year.
Dr.
Idowu said the renovation would not only give the building a facelift but make
it more conducive for workers and patients.
One
of the construction Engineers, Arch. Rotimi Okunowo explained that the estimate
would be forwarded to the appropriate quarters and work would commence
immediately.
