He maintained that two or more
health centres in each Local Government of the State would be upgraded and
equipped to the Ogun standard in order to reduce the burden on secondary and
tertiary health institutions in the State revealing that
the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme (CCT) ‘Gbomoro’ would continue in
2016 to ease the financial plight of pregnant women in child bearing age.
He noted that training and
retraining of health workers would be given priority in the proposed
Appropriation Bill to improve on their skills and service delivery.
Amosun pledged that his
administration would upgrade and ensure provision of functional infrastructure
in the health sector and as well introduce Performance Based Funding (PBF) to
improve productivity among the health workers.
He also promised to sustain the present
level of immunisation coverage, treatment of severe malaria and prevention of
HIV/AIDs.
“We must ensure that our resources are
optimally allocated to deliver maximum return for our people. It is therefore
critical for us to continue to collaborate, synergize and strengthen our
partnership with all stakeholders in pursuit of our common goals to leave a
legacy that endures”, he said.
