Speaking to Asabeafrika at the venue of the
traditional marriage, the groom Barrister
Kayode
Sofidiya expressed his
joy and gratefulness to God for making it possible for him to marry Olarike Olaiya who is first niece of Nollywood Actress, Moji Olaiya “I feel so good, I am delighted I am getting married to
my wife. I married her because she is pretty and down to earth, she is a
complete woman and I am very happy to be married to her. As you can see, she is
from a well mannered and well respected home and I didn’t expected anything
less than that”; on what his favorite meal is and if his Olarike can actually cook it,
Kayode
replied with a dashing smile “My favorite meal is pounded yam and Egusi soup and I will tell you that my
wife can cook it very well, I can tell you that is not a challenge for her”.
So, how did both meet?  “We met here in Nigeria
and the chemistry just connected and today we are one”. The groom gave us his
brief resume “My name is Kayode Sofidiya
from Ogun state, Abeoukuta. I am an
hotelier by profession but I read law in school. Marriage to me is like an
adventure, I have not really been in one before. So, I am looking forward to it
and I believe it is going to be peaceful in Jesus name”. Kayode ended the interview with enthusiasm written all over his
face

all guests returned back to Jonshland

for the after wedding reception, it was certain to
all that the party was a big one as the interior of the hall and the array of
food vendors at the beck and call of the organizers spoke volume of the
hospitality at play by the Oshuns.

to honor Alake Oshun was

Lagos Textile Merchants storm Event

The event
which started on a gradual level at 1:30pm soon snowballed into a bigger party
as numerous Lagos Lady Textile merchants dressed down for Alake Oshun as they stormed the event in the yellow Aso-Ebi Uniform for the event. This
group of Lagos textile merchants cut across various markets from Lagos Island down to Oshodi and Ikeja.  Prominent among this
group of busy women is what is known as The
Royal
Executive Club made up of Alhaja Kike Odutayo, Erelu Aderonke Ijale, Alhaja Ejide Bolade Hassan, Alhaja Azizat

husband of the indomitable business woman and Otunba Boroji of Egbeda
Land/Iyalaje of Ayede-Ekiti, Otunba Fatai Rotimi Oshun took over the reception
party of his step son as he moved around to ensure friends and well wishers
from both the bride and the groom families were well catered for. The
Chairman/CEO of CIV Built Nigeria Ltd, a leading estate
development firm in Lagos was the cynosure of all eyes as he moved with his
very beautiful wife, Alake

also a former Permanent Secretary in charge of Lagos state ministry of Water
Corporation. The very distinguished lady who represented her boss very well
later conducted the cutting of the wedding cake at the reception. She was
joined by the royal father of the day HRM,

in Lagos state.

The event
also turned into a big gathering of All
Progressive Congress
enthusiasts as they took over the entire event with
the Sai Buhari Sai Baba slang
renting the air. The reason was not far fetched; many of the APC women leaders
were in the house, starting with APC Woman leader in Lagos Mrs. Iyabo Akerele and Chief
Mrs. Basirat Olayinka Ojugbele,
the APC Women leader in Ojokoro area of Lagos and many of the
market women leaders who are equally passionate about the ruling party in
Lagos. It was almost like the official slang at the event as Madam Kofo and many others in the house
chanted the APC slogan which received a loud reception from the crowd of
guests.

If there was
one thing that dotted the occasion apart from the crowd of guests from all
walks of life, it was the availability of choice wines, drinks and water.
Talking about food, it was over served as many guests had more than enough to
eat and drink. The organizers of the event ensued that all the over 150 tables
in the hall were properly served with both amala,
rice, yam porridge, pounded yam,
tuwo, salad (With Assorted meat, snail and fish)and many assorted drinks
of various brands. Later in the evening small chops were again supplied in
dozen plates to every one both inside and outside the hall. There was no
classification of guests when it came to serving of meals.
