The Ogun
State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun(FCA, CON) who has been awarded the Sun Man
of the Year has disclosed that the award is a call to service and a greater
challenge for him to work more for the state and the country in general. Governor Amosun who disclosed this at the14th Annual Sun Awards organized by the Sun
Publishing Limited at Eko Hotels and
Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos dedicated his award to the people of Ogun
State.
The Governor appreciated the organizers of
the event for maintaining the organisation of the award since the last 14 years
adding that the award shows that people acknowledges the efforts of his
administration.

Earlier in his speech, the Chairman/Publisher
of the Sun Publishing Limited, Dr. Orji
Uzor Kalu stated that Governor Amosun and the other 17 awardees have
distinguished themselves with their courage, Innovation and Excellence which
are the qualities required for the award.

Emeka Anyaoku who happens to be the chairman of the occasion noted that “the Sun Awards is a celebration of
the Country’s great achievers” adding that the event is a great day in
the history of Sun Newspaper.

Chief Anyaoku used the occasion to call on the media to avoid distortion of fact,
embellishments of Information and total untruth in their reportage, urging them
to pay attention to common misdemeanor and misdeeds.

for the nation, the Chairman urged the media to always remember that everyone
