How he was killed 5 years after son’s wedding with
Mike Adenuga’s daughter.
Mike Adenuga’s daughter.
The Mike Adenuga In-law was said to have been shot dead under some
funny circumstances when himself and some other prominent members of Okunraye
community came to douse a tension between Police and indigenes of the community
who were protesting the forceful overtake of their lands by Dangote Group on
that ill-fated Monday. Dangote Group is one of the leading investment firms on the
Lekki Trade Free Zone’s clientele. Otunba
Disu was alleged to have been hit by a Police bullet in the ensuing melee
and died instantly. It was a sad October Monday 12. Some young people, about 17 were later
apprehended by Police authorities in Lagos but the community leaders insist
that it was police, in their overzealous carelessness who killed Otunba Disu. The case of “Who Killed
Otunba Disu?” is still ongoing as police and indigenes of Okunraye community whose
lands were seized and valuables destroyed for the establishment of Lekki Trade
Free Zone exchange accusations. Otunba
Disu died five years after his son married Bella and two years after the couple
gave him a grandchild.
