The State
Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, has said that Ogun
State Government in collaboration with Bank of Industry (BOI) have disbursed
about N600 million to encourage micro, small and medium scale businesses across
the State through its loan scheme.

Ashiru made this known during a courtesy visit by
Gesellschaft Fur International Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), a German Technical
Corporation, to his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

He said that about 109 co-operative societies and
seven SMEs have benefited from the loan scheme where thousands of direct and
indirect employments have been created.

The Commissioner stated that the present

the State through partnership with organisations to further enhance the growth
of entrepreneurs in the State.

Otunba Ashiru noted that the State would also focus on
capacity building programme for MSMEs to develop businesses, noting that the
State Government would also welcome initiatives to boost and improve commerce
in the State.

infrastructural development, good road networks and security to encourage MSMEs

Co-ordinator of GIZ, Mrs Ana Vinambres said the management of the organisation
was following the trend of development in the State and is willing to support
the State at improving the growth of MSMEs.
