Speaking to Asabeafrika inside his Opebi,
Ikeja-Lagos South West Nigeria home last Thursday morning, Jamiu who just returned from his publishers in Cairo said the
interest to write a book on his father was the biggest intention that ever
crossed his mind in the last 17 years of losing his dad to the Nigerian
political crisis. “Having stayed close to him, having moved with him on several
political outings during his last days on earth, there were things dad shared
with me that he was never opportune to share with anyone else which I feel
needed to be shared at this point in the history of our dear nation. I think it was not a coincidence for him to
have shared those things with me and I feel he wants me to say make them public
some day no matter what. Dad was a very interesting man, to a large extent he
saw many things, he did many things for both the extra-ordinary and average
Nigerian, he was the first man to truly rise from grass to grace and if you
read my own account, you will understand better his story of grass to grace. He
was the real authentic billionaire who made his breakthrough out of sheer
optimism. For me, it is the biggest sacrifice a son can ever make for his
father”

Jamiu Abiola’s Second Book, Realistic Hope |
Jamiu who has written two books earlier “The
Prisoner of Conscience” and “Realistic Hope” which were equally
published in both Arabic and English said his third book “MKO: The President
that never ruled” is the biggest intellectual exercise he ever engaged
in as the work is a compendium of activities that lead to the unique birth,
growth, success and death of his legendary father “I have a feeling that a lot
of things revealed in this book have never been in the public domain before and
they will equally raise a lot of sentiment but I think above all, it is much
more reasonable to push them out in black and white than burry them all in one
full swing of emotional trauma”
